We landed on Venice, Italy for our next stop. Venice is beeeautiful. Very unique place and very much a working city. People take these water taxis to and from work every day. We hit a grand canal tour which gave some good history and then got off at St. Mark's square, a big touristy area.
We sat down for a slice of pizza and met a couple from Australia who were really nice. They had also been to Cinque Terre, land of the jellyfish. The girl pulled up her shorts to show us the MOST BRUTAL, vicious wound I've ever seen. It looked like someone took a scorching hot whip and nailed her in the leg with it. And it left a deep cut too that will scar for sure. She said, "It felt like I was getting electrocuted under water." Woof. After hearing this story Chris began to complain more about his own jellyfish stings, which he oddly calls "jellyfish bites" lol.
We ended our day perfectly with a gondola ride of the canals. If you can, split a ride with another couple - saves 40 euro and you get a free photographer out of it!
